the Olympics on nbc

I find it hard to agree. But truth be told, NBC is really ruining the olympic coverage this year.
And at the same time, Thank you NBC for allowing americans the privelege of watching the games.

I hate to say negatives . period. The ski jumping went fine. You could see the athletes sitting,
and waiting their turn. Speedskating, well that is one event that needs some breaks in between. Nice.
But the figure skating was all chopped up. And the commentary was , like rehearsed.
There did not seem to be any passion, no spontaneous reactions. It was dull.

And this is completely off-topic. Yet why... in this day and age of 'big screen' TVs,
and everybody has one (except me) , why in the hell do they zoom in on peoples
faces for close-ups ? Bob Costas face 4 foot wide on a tv screen is excessive torture.
Didn't they get the memo ? Torture is illegal.

You want ratings ? Dump your veteran crews, and give us 21 year old fresh out of
competition commentators. Hey, you could save a ton on benefits and pensions , too.

I am very sensitive about what i watch. NBC has turned the olympics into a false dream of profit.
How many billions will they lose, due to bidding on the rights to broadcast the games ?

Your viewers didn't place the bid. Why make them suffer .

Over the summer, i watched the IIAF world track championships on universal.com.
They showed the competitions, and never had a commercial break. It was great.
I thought I would record some on a dvdr for posterity. Something to watch on a rainy day.
So i set the recorder for a 1 hour show on Versus. It was horrible. They cut up the performances
and added commentary in between commercials.
That is how it felt: a little sports with your commercials.

And now, NBC has done the same with the olympics. Who cares ?
The same people who will watch nbc go down the tubes of bankruptcy, as say I told you so.
